Outlook Express / Windows Mail

1. To begin select the Tools menu option.
2. Next select the Accounts option.
3. Even if you already have an email account setup select the Add button and choose mail.
4. Enter their First and Last Name.
5. Enter their Email Address.
6. Atlantic BT has numerous e-mail servers in operation.
Your incoming and outgoing servers use the mail.your-domain-name.com format.
For instance if your company’s domain name was microsoft.com,
the Incoming and Outgoing mail server fields would be mail.microsoft.com.
For this example we will use mail.your-domain-name.com for both Incoming and Outgoing server fields.

7. Next we will enter the Username and Password.
Outlook Express attempts to put in your username based on what you entered in the email address field from above.
Atlantic BT’s servers require that the User Name field be your entire email address.
8. Enter your entire address.
9. Now enter your email password.
If you do not know your password, please ask your system administrator or contact Atlantic BT Support.
9. Click Finish.
10. Now highlight your newly created account and click the Properties button.
11. Click the Servers tab.
12. Look at the bottom of this box for ‘Outgoing Mail Server’.
13. Check the box next to: My server requires authentication
It is very important that this box is checked, if left unchecked Outlook Express will be unable to send outbound email.
14. Click the Apply button.
15. Next select the Advanced Tab.
16. Change the Outgoing mail port from 25 to 587

If you need to receive email in more than 1 location, for example on a Blackberry, iPhone or at another location
such as your home / remote office, please enable the Delivery options offered by Outlook Express.

17. If that be the case, please check all three boxes.  Also set the remove from server to no more than 10 days.
18. Now click OK and then hit the Close button to exit Account Settings.
19. Finally send a test email to: abtsupport@gmail.com
This is a test account used by Atlantic BT Support to verify that your email account can send email to remote servers.

20. The abtsupport@gmail.com account will automatically send a reply to your email within 15 minutes.
21. After 5-15 minutes hit the Send/Receive button.
You should see the automatic reply from the Atlantic BT Gmail account.

If you experience any issues in setting up this account, please contact Atlantic BT Support.
