Add an account to Outlook 2007

Add an account to Outlook 2007.

1. From the menu bar select 'Tools', then select 'Account Settings'.

2. Click 'New...' button on left hand side of dialog box.

3.Click through the first menu if prompted, otherwise click the checkbox at the bottom of the screen:
"Manually configure server settings..."

4. Leave the Internet E-mail option selected and click 'Next'

5.Enter your name and your email address.

6. Enter Server Information:
        Incoming mail server: mail.your-domain-name.com (ie: mail.microsoft.com)
        Outgoing mail server: mail.your-domain-name.com (ie: mail.microsoft.com)

8. Logon Information:
       User Name: your-name@your-domain-name.com
       Verify that your entire email address is in the 'User Name' field.
       Password: Password provided to you by your system administrator or AtlanticBT.

9. Click the 'More Settings' button.
    Select the 'Outgoing Server' tab.

10. AtlanticBT servers require SMTP authentication.
     Click in the box to enable: “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
     Verify that “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is selected. 
     If these settings are not enabled, Outlook will be unable to send outbound email.
     If you are receiving a 550 error when sending email, verify this setting is enabled.
   
11. Select the 'Advanced' tab.

12. Change the Outgoing port to 587 (default: 25).

13. If you need to receive email in more than 1 location, for example on a Blackberry, iPhone
      or at another location such as a home office, enable the Delivery options offered by Outlook.

14. Check all 3 boxes and set 'Remove from server' to no more than 10 days.

15. Click OK and then hit the Test Account Settings button.

16. If you receive two green check marks, click Next. Select Close and hit Finish.

16a. If you do not receive the 2 arrows, check to make sure you have entered your entire email address
        in the User Name field and that your password is typed correctly.
        Remember passwords are case-sensitive.

17. Finally send a test email to: abtsupport@gmail.com
      This is a test account which Atlantic BT uses to verify that your email account can send email to
      remote email servers.  The abtsupport@gmail.com account will automatically send a reply within 15 minutes.
      Note: abtsupport@gmail.com is NOT checked by Atlantic BT Support staff, it is only for testing purposes.

18. This completes the setup on an Outlook 2007 account, if you experience any issues, contact Atlantic BT Support.
